Samsung launched the Galaxy S9 and S9 plus with improved cameras and other specifications

Samsung had officially launched it's flagship phones the Galaxy S9 and S9 plus at MWC event in Barcelona. Both these look similar to previous Galaxy S8 series except for the camera performance that comes with variable aperture for better camera performance which is lot improved than S8 devices. They will be available from March 16 in selected markets. The color options available are Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Lilac Purple and Titanium Grey.

As I already said the Galaxy S9 and S9 plus look same like previous generation, but the main highlight is the camera department. It is improved a lot and had some features which turns out to be special than Galaxy S8 series. The features are primary camera had Variable Aperture, super slow motion recording, AR Emoji similar to Apple's Animoji and Bixby vision in Camera are the features.

As said the  main highlight of the S9 and S9 plus is the camera. A new feature called dual aperture setup called variable aperture is in these devices. It has f/1.5-f/2.4 apertures used to take better pictures. When there is amole lighting it will be having f/2.4 aperture and if it identifies low lighting it switches to f/1.5 aperture. Samsung said that Galaxy S9 and S9 plus can take 28% more light than S8 using this, and with muti frame noise reduction we can have 30% less noise in images.

The next feature in the cameras is that S9 and S9 plus can record videos upto 960fms at 720p resolution which is previously present only in Sony Xperia XZ premium devices, which means 0.2 seconds of picture can be stretched to 6 seconds and can use as GIF or animated wallpaper.

The next camera feature in Galaxy S9 and S9 plus is it introduced AR Emoji feature which rivals the Apple's Animoji feature. Apple's Animoji uses facial expressions on normal looking emojis and use them, but Samsung's AR Emoji works like it will create a 3D image of yourself and customize it as you like and create an Emoji. Samsung provide 18 different emojis in keyboard app.

The next highlight in camera app is it has inbuilt Bixby vision in camera app which acts just like Google lens in pixel phones, like this Bixby will detect the objects when camera is placed near these objects. It can even translate text which is an useful feature.

The other highlights are it has dual speakers with stereo speaker setup. One is a bottom speaker and other is earpiece acts as another speaker. It supports Dolby and improves sound quality than previous generation phone. The major complaint in S8 is the fingerprint scanner which is placed next to camera as is difficult to reach, now S9 series has fingerprint scanner placed below camera which is reached easily. The next feature is improved Iris technology along with facial recognition which works together and gives better results.

The Galaxy S9 features are it has 5.8-inch QHD+ Amoled display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It has 4 GB RAM and have 12MP camera with dual aperture of f/1.5-f/2.4 with OIS, battery is at 3,000mAh capacity.

Now the Galaxy S9 plus features a 6.2-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It has 6GB RAM and have dual 12MP  camera system while primary has dual aperture of f/1.5-f/2.4 with OIS and secondary is a telephoto lens. Both devices had front 8MP Camera with f/1.7 aperture.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 plus is powered by 10nm snapdragon 845 processor and Exynos 9810 processor based on selected markets. It also has NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, dual band WiFi 802.11a, USB type-C port, Volte, IP-68 resistant, storage in 64/128/256 GB varaints and can expand upto 400GB using MicroSD card.
