It seems Samsung had already started releasing software updates for it's new Samsung Galaxy A8 plus which is released on December 2017. Here we have got an image related to an OTA update which states the details of update.
From the above image we can see it's size is about 115MB. Update provides device stability and enhancements, enhanced features and improvements to performance.
It is seen that security patch provided is of january 2018.
